The new generation of AirMax VSe ® connectors use a flexible open pin chip design, providing a migration path for applications up to 25Gb/s for each differential pair. This kind of connector is also backward compatible. It can be connected to the existing AirMax VS ®  connector with minimal modification to the package size of the connector.

The connector utilizes Amphenol ICC's unshielded design technology (no metal plate) and tightly coupled differential pairs to achieve innovative design improvements to reduce loss and crosstalk.

Right-angle female and right-angle male connectors can support backplane, midplane or coplanar applications.

When deploying new equipment or upgrading equipment, the ability to deploy compatible interfaces and retain key pin configurations provides opportunities for cost savings. For example, the design of the backplane and chassis allows the installation and continued use of existing traditional daughter cards, line cards or blades, and new or future high-speed module cards.
